Golf Quest — Terms of Use & Privacy Statement

Effective August 22, 2026 · applies to Golf Quest sites and apps at alphatooth.com
The short version: Golf Quest is an invite-only game for real people who golf together. We collect a little information to run it and to tell you about Golf Quest things. We never sell your personal information. You can leave, or unsubscribe, anytime.

1. What Golf Quest is

Golf Quest is a recreational game: crews of friends and families track their mission to play every golf course around their city. Membership is by invitation from a current member. It's a game — scores, points, badges and standings exist for fun and bragging rights, and carry no monetary value.

2. What we collect

  • Identity basics: your name, email address, mobile number, and ZIP code — collected when you join, or when you add yourself to a waitlist or interest list. We use these to recognize you (no usernames or passwords), match you to invitations, and contact you. Your email, mobile and ZIP are your identifiers — treat the personal access link you receive like a key.
  • Game activity: rounds you log and their details (courses, dates, scores, ratings, notes), photos you choose to upload, family links you set up, and invitations you send or accept.
  • That's it. No ad trackers, no analytics beacons, no location tracking, no selling data brokers a thing.

3. How we use it

  • To run the game: standings, badges, feeds, season archives, and year-end recaps visible to other members of your quest.
  • To manage membership: invitations, waitlists, and access.
  • To contact you about Golf Quest: by email or text — things like launch announcements for new city quests, your invitations, season recaps, and occasional offers from Golf Quest or its partners (for example, a golf course offering the crew a deal). By joining a list or membership and checking the consent box, you agree we may contact you this way. Every message includes a way to opt out, and opting out is always honored.
  • In aggregate: we may publish or share combined, de-identified statistics (like "our members rated this course's beer cart #1 in St. Louis") that never identify you personally.

4. What we never do

  • We never sell or rent your personal information.
  • We never share your contact details with third parties for their own marketing.
  • We never post your information publicly — game content is visible only inside the invite-only quest.

5. Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from emails or texts anytime — reply STOP to a text, use the link in an email, or just tell us.
  • Leave the quest: ask and we'll deactivate your membership. Rounds already logged remain part of the group's shared history (they're other members' games too), but we'll remove your contact details on request.
  • See or correct your info: email us and we'll show you what we have or fix it.

6. Security, honestly stated

Your information lives in access-controlled Google Workspace storage (Sheets and Drive) reachable only through keyed requests. Membership access uses unguessable personal links instead of passwords, so there is no password of yours for us to lose. No system is perfect, but we keep the surface small: little data, no third-party trackers, invite-only access, revocable keys.

7. The fine print

Golf Quest is provided as-is, for fun, with no warranties. Golf is dangerous only if you're standing in the wrong place — play at your own risk; Golf Quest isn't responsible for anything that happens on or off the course, including green fees, bets, or your slice. We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do, and meaningful changes will be announced in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of Missouri, USA.

8. Kids & teens

  • Under 13: children do not get their own membership and we do not collect their contact information. They participate as players on a parent or guardian's membership — their rounds are logged by family, and any name appearing in the game is entered by the parent, with the parent's consent.
  • 13–17: teens may hold their own membership only through an invitation from their parent or guardian, whose consent travels with that invitation. A parent can ask us to revoke a teen's access or remove their contact details at any time.
